Monsters pose no threat and do not kill you, it's legitimately a strategy to run straight into them and get 'knocked out', just to wake up and see they're gone. Most objects in the game cannot be touched and interacted with. Amnesia Rebirth as a whole is not really a good game and to be honest, I cannot imagine people actually want to make custom stories for it.
